The Managing
Director of the company, who stands as the chief facilitator of the training,
Mr. Yomi Badejo Okusanya, while addressing the participants, said that the media
training was organized to increase the knowledge of the staff on media ethics,
building and maintaining relationship with the media.
The training focuses
on four modules; Nigeria’s media scenario, social media exploitation, crisis Management and media interviews.
Participants had the opportunity to learn detailed aspects of the
Nigerian media, communication, the effect of media/press releases and a broad
range of other subjects.
According to
him, this is to improve the skills of the participants as well as to make them
more effective on their jobs.
Also co-facilitating,
the IT and Digital Manager of CMC Connect Limited (Perception Managers), Engr.
Eyitayo Alimi, trained participants on social and digital media.
She laid
emphases on how Lafarge as an organization can effectively make use of social
media to increase their volume of sales and how the internet has aided media
development.
At the end of
the session participants were able to demonstrate what they have been taught on
the interview aspect of the training.
